The Account Services Representative assists regional customer accounts with their ink room operations by putting practices into place, performing in-house transitions, providing press-side technical support, testing ink systems, and conducting ink trials. The position’s goal is to directly improve through-put within the customer’s operation.
Job Responsibilities
- Facilitate and coordinate new in-house transitions, assisting customers with transition from competitor’s ink to Siegwerk ink.
- Advise and train customer on technical ink printing processes that include (but not limited to): color matching, thin ink work off process, formula change-over, and color theory.
- Supervise ink processing in client facility to ensure smooth operation. Recognize basic printing problems, troubleshoots and confers with customer and client teams to resolve issues in close communication with the technical team.
- Organize and conduct product trials at customers' plants.
- Work closely with in-house technicians, lab technicians, account managers, and Siegwerk manufacturing to coordinate and insure that customer needs are met along with insuring proper procedures, service, and quality standards.
- Report technical issues to Siegwerk laboratory team for assistance as necessary.
- Perform hands-on press side and ink room duties as required.
- Prepare trial reports. Prepare weekly schedules and reports.
- Prepare and distribute customer correspondence.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years related experience and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Expereince in training, physical color matching of fluid inks.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Proficient mechanical knowledge of Flexo and Roto Gravure processes and mechanical component functions; press drying and trapping function and importance.
- Possess extensive knowledge of print defects and how to solve them.
- Possess knowledge of flexo process printing and roto operating conditions.
- Knowledge of major substrates and their end use understanding lamination and its different types.
- Knowledge of automated dispensing.
- Ability to effectively work with and assist customers.
- Understand and conduct color theory training.
