The Human Resources Manager will manage all human resource activities within Canada and USA to ensure the delivery of optimal, cost effective personnel services are provided in compliance with legal and statutory regulations.
Job Responsibilities
- Development and implementation of HR policies, procedures and systems to meet legal entity requirements in compliance with local legislation.
- Implementation of recruitment plans to meet current staffing needs and cooperate with line managers to plan manpower requirements in order to optimize headcount and skills sets.
- Delivery and maintenance of efficient personnel administration systems and procedures (payroll, employee benefits) in compliance with local legislation to provide best-in-class services to all staff.
- Coordination and delivery of training programs and activities as identified with line managers to ensure that personnel is trained and developed to meet current and future job responsibilities.
- Acquisition of up-to-date knowledge in national labor legislation to ensure compliance of company HR policies and practices with legal requirements.
- Proactively engage BU leadership to provide solutions to business challenges.
- Counsel line managers/directors in the interpretation of HR policies and procedures and employee relations activities to ensure proper application according to company rules and business standards.
- Participate in/or conduct salary and benefits surveys to ensure the legal entity/country salary and employee benefits programs and practices are competitive with market standards.
- Prepare regular reporting on headcount fluctuations, absenteeism rates, personnel training & development activities and make recommendations for improvement.
- Promotion of effective working relationships among employees at all levels within the organization by developing best-in-class work environment practices.
- Development and implementation of the BU strategy and business plans to achieve the defined business objectives with the best staffing levels and skills and competencies.
- Projects related to Group HR and organizational development issues.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, Psycology or related field
- Master's degree or MBA preferred
- 5+ years management experience
- Experience in manufacturing HR management
- Effective communication is essential for interacting with employees, manager and other stakeholders
- Strong problem skills and analytical skills
- Expert conflict resolutions skills
- Knowledge of HR laws and regulations
