Monitors production flow and ensures that product is produced and/or distributed according to customer needs; supervises staff; completes a variety of administrative duties; ensures safety & inventory control; stops ink shipments if quality is in question. Meets customer needs to the best of the incumbent’s ability, in line with Siegwerk’s philosophy that the customer is the #1 priority. Adheres to all departmental/company policies and standards to include (but not limited to): (1) maintains a neat, clean and safe work area; (2) maintains regular and consistent attendance; and (3) maintains positive working relationships.
Job Responsibilities
- Supervise Production and/or warehouse employees in accordance with policies and applicable laws ensuring quality and efficiency of performance
- Plan, assign, and direct work; monitor and appraise performance; reward and discipline when warranted; address complaints and resolve problems. Conduct & document performance-related counseling sessions, as needed
- Participate in meetings; communicate pertinent information, both verbally and in writing
- Ensure that all safety procedures are followed and met
- Work closely with Planners to determine what should be produced and shipped to meet schedules
- Ensure new employees are properly trained
- Optimize manufacturing processes through Daily Management Boards and 5S
- Understand the total impact of throughput, inventory and conversion costs
- Work closely with Plant Manager and other supervisors in order to monitor Work-Off levels and usage
- Fill in for other supervisors or any other area as directed
- Fill in for hourly personnel shortages due to sickness or scheduled time off
- Manage productivity, employee hours and approve timecards.
- Invest extra time as needed.
Skills/Education/Experience
- Associates Degree and two year related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience; Previous supervisory experience preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal/communication skills required.
- Knowledge of SAP, Microsoft
