Key Responsibilities

Site Management & Supervision

  • Direct On-Site Supervision: Oversee and manage all daily civil construction activities, including earthworks, foundations, structural works (e.g., concrete, steel), paving, drainage, and utilities installation.
  • Quality Assurance/Control (QA/QC): Conduct regular, detailed inspections of work in progress to ensure materials, workmanship, and construction procedures strictly adhere to approved design specifications, project standards, and local building codes.
  • Safety Enforcement: Champion the project's safety culture. Ensure all workers and subcontractors comply with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations and site-specific safety plans. Conduct daily safety briefings and hazard identification.
  • Progress Monitoring: Track and report on the daily and weekly progress of construction activities against the project schedule. Identify potential delays and proactively implement corrective actions.

Technical & Coordination

  • Drawing & Specification Interpretation: Serve as the on-site expert for interpreting complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and project specifications. Resolve any technical queries or discrepancies that arise in the field.
  • Resource Coordination: Coordinate labor, equipment, and material deliveries to maximize site efficiency and productivity. Manage and optimize the use of construction resources.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the primary technical point of contact for subcontractors, vendors, and third-party inspectors/consultants.
  • Problem-Solving: Rapidly identify, analyze, and resolve technical and logistical issues that impact construction progress.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Documentation: Maintain meticulous on-site records, including daily site diaries, progress photos, inspection reports, material test results, and non-conformance reports (NCRs).
  • Reporting: Prepare and submit clear, concise daily and weekly progress reports to the Project Manager, highlighting accomplishments, upcoming tasks, and any critical issues (e.g., safety, quality, schedule).

Qualifications and Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in civil engineering and construction, 
  • Technical Skills:
    • Profound understanding of construction methods, materials, and quality assurance procedures for various civil works.
    • Proven ability to read, interpret, and implement complex construction drawings and specifications.
    • Knowledge of relevant local and international building codes, safety regulations, and construction standards.
  • Essential Skills:
    • Strong Leadership and Team Management abilities.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication and conflict resolution skills.
    • Proficiency in project management and reporting tools (e.g., MS Project, Excel, AutoCAD).
